Hi, I'm Carolyn Aversa
For as long as I can remember, creativity has guided my life. From making and performing plays with my cousins, dance competitions in my basement, singing (terribly) with my sister, competing in dance, teaching dance, coaching junior cheer, having a paint night with a friend, to even just dancing around my kitchen now that I am home from college, my creative mind never sleeps.
My parents gifted me my first camera when I was 15, and it all slowly started to click for me. I began bringing it around sporting events and after school activities just for fun. That turned into doing friends' high school senior portraits, capturing family milestones, and even an intimate wedding.
During my sophomore year at Penn State, on the first day of one of my classes a professor said "where there's love, there's creativity," and that has never left me. I have always been passionate about helping people and photography; so, I finally set my fear aside and dove in during my last semester at Penn State. While finishing up my bachelor's in psychology degree, I had a blast experimenting and creating new ideas with my fellow graduates. Now, alongside studying for my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Scranton, I am excited to take my next step forward with photography and continue following my heart. :)
following my heart and living creatively
